A warm and slightly spiced soup works perfectly on a winter season day or night. A comfort dish that has lots of nutrients and flavours.
MATAR SHORBA
Ingredients
2 cups fresh green peas (matar), shelled
1 tablespoon oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoon sliced garlic
1-2 green chillies, chopped
8-10 fresh coriander stalks, chopped
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
1/2 tsp Tata Sampann Garam Masala
2 tbsps fresh cream + for sprinkling
1 tsp lemon juice
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Approach
1. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add onion, garlic, green chillies and coriander roots and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Include green peas and mix and sauté for 1 minute.
2. Add salt and mix and include 2 1/2 cups water and mix. Cook on medium heat for 8-10 minutes. Take the pan off the heat and permit the mix to cool slightly.
3. Transfer into a blender jar and blend to a smooth consistency. Put this into the very same pan and place the pan back on heat.
4. Include 1 1/2 cups water and mix, cook for 1-2 minutes. Add crushed black peppercorns and Tata Sampann Garam Masala and blend well.
5. Change the heat off and include cream and stir. Add lemon juice, mix and pour into serving bowls.
6. Drizzle fresh cream, spray crushed black peppercorns and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot.
