Hallo Janine I am Maria Italien live in Germany I Like you cooking very, you can belive from Italien Woman say to you 🎉😊 Thank you😊
Jamie Hello, do you by any chance have a recipe for Sacher cake?
I would really like to try it in your cooking
If cooking a soup or stew, you can switch off the heat after it is cooked and only then add frozen peas or spinach, stir them in, cover with the lid and let the heat warm them up for 5 minutes while the stew cools a bit. It might help not overcook the peas or spinach, so more nutrients get into the mouth.
Are butternut squash seeds edible??
Have you ever saved them and eaten them??
Are they like pumpkin seeds?
Have you ever roasted them or had them with a sprinkle of sea salt?
Jamie can you make a video about NOT using knives as much as possible when cooking but using other tools instead. To help reduce cutting and injuries in the kitchens. I have seen some men with fingers missing in West London, I am not sure what happened to them!
Avoiding cutting in the kitchen helps to save time and keeps foods chunky so every vegetable and fruit is recognisable, so all the foods can be chewed in mouths so molars/wisdom teeth get used to chew properly every day.
A video about 10+ ways to reduce knife use would be helpful to reduce vegetable and fruit cutting time when preparing meals while still using fresh whole vegetables and fruits and without using pre-cut or pre-mushed bought products.
1. Many chefs and cooks use massive knives just to cut small tomatoes and other small vegetables and fruits when they could all be kept whole to let each dinner guest cut their tomato themselves with their much smaller and less sharp and dangerous knife around the table.
2. Salad vegetables could just be washed, cut into portion sizes and put into different bowls on the tables. Then everyone could choose 3 portions and make their own mini salad. Saves lots of time and the salad does not wilt or go soft and mushy before it even gets to everyone’s plate.
3. There is no need to finely chop many things when everything can be kept much chunkier.
4. Cook vegetables whole, with skins on eg potatoes, sweet potatoes, half cook carrots whole. Avoid cutting them as much as possible. Then people can get 3 small whole boiled potatoes, 1 half-cooked carrot from serving bowls in the middle of the dinner table. Then everyone can chop them in their own dinner plates and add a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil or a teaspoon of salad cream or mayo, a sprinkle of sea salt and fresh pepper, a little paprika, add some fresh spring onion. Then all the family, the children, any dinner guests get something fun to do around the dinner table and they practise making their own fresh potato salad. Boiled potato salads are a very important healthy carbohydrate dish. They are so simple to make and so good for mental and physical health.
5. Halving bell peppers with fingers instead of with a knife. I saw it in one of your videos! Breaking up a broccoli or cauliflower head with just your hands and fingers.
6. You can cut cooked vegetables with the side of a big fork
7. Add a portion of fresh, uncut mixed fruit to any dessert dish eg mixed berries, whole orange segments,
8. Use salad leaves whole, uncut. Place them on a dinner plate. Add a teaspoonful of soft cheese or hummus on top and place a portion of cherry tomatoes and a portion of olives with seeds on top to keep all the original shapes so every leaf is fresh and crunchy and not wilted and nothing is cut at all.
9. Plum tomatoes squished with fingers. Garlic peeled, cooked whole and then squashed with a fork and stirred into dishes. Herbs torn with fingers. Steaks and filets kept whole.
10. When making sauces with fruit never chopping the berries or soft fruits but keeping them whole for added texture, natural shapes etc.
and any others you can think of!
Literally is this a joke? I mean what??? I’m a mother and nanny and been using kitchen knives all my life! Sharp ones too.. people aren’t idiots !
Are you for real??? For one, a bigger knife fits better in the hand than a small knife. You actually have better control with what you call a huge knife.
This was a fantastic video! I really appreciate how clearly you explained the topic and turned complex information into something practical and easy to understand. The content feels both informative and genuinely useful. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I’m curious—if viewers could change just one habit starting today, which one would you recommend and why?
