Jamie… We went to the same school in Newport. I too suffer from Dyslexia, I still struggle today and have learnt to adapt the way I read and write to make less mistakes.
Despite being bullied for being the dumb poor kid who mixed up words and numbers I have also done okay.
I worry for my son as schools are overwhelmed and underfunded but I will give it my all to make sure he gets everything he needs from me.
I feel you, I’ve been homeschooling my kids (8-4 adults now) for 19 years. I was the kids at the special table and didn’t really clue in to how different I was until becoming a parent. Half of my kids are dyslexic. I work on nurturing the gifts God gave them and encourage them to do what they are passionate about and not what society expects of them.
I appreciate that you shared this. It’s inspiring.
This guy solely hands down made me want to be a chef. Not Marco or Gordon but Jamie.
Marco is having it too. Nothing to be ashamed of.
Thank you for sharing. I, too, have dyslexia. It is no fun growing up being bullied, made to feel like you’re worthless and will not do well in your life.
But, things have turned out well for me as of course, they have gone well for you! Congratulations to us,🥂❤
You are amazing! Thanks for sharing so others can know there is hope!❤
❤ It’s lovley to share this video, this book and also talking about these issues. And so important!🎉
Jamie, you’re a wonderful blessed Soul… Full of feelings and compassion… Always caring for others… Stay blessed, you and your family always…
Love and wellbeing throughout ❤️🙏🏽 xx…
He’s crying all the time. That’s nothing to strive for. He’s weak, and has angered all Asians by butchering asian food.
@@shotgunchris nobody cares about Asians
God love you mate, never stop pooring out your passions and desires and telling your story. From trials to triumph. Others will be freed from the lies that tangles us up from childhood and beyond just watching this. From one unique mind to another free from stigma. Thank you
No matter how rich, mature, or safe you appear on the outside…it’s always there…and there’s nothing we can do about it. 😶
I stand with you, Jamie.
Bless you, Jamie.
If There’s ever a Chef to be Knighted it’s this Man!! Love J and what he’s done!!
Ever seen him trying to make asian food?! It’s a nightmare, and he should stay far away from making asian food.
I always thought you were super but sharing like this has elevated you to hero. You are a hero. My two children are dyslexic but I always told them they were the lucky ones 🎉
The only cooking shows my mom ever watched were Nigella’s and yours. I always joked you were the son she never had. Even when she was very sick she would always enjoy watching your show. She passed away in 2015 and i will always be thankful for the memories i have of us watching you cook.
Dear Jamie, I love watching your programs…you teach us — your enormous audience around the world — how to cook, with humor, devotion, and love. Sometimes, your lovely family joins you and then I just happen to think I am so lucky to be able to see you like this. You do the whole thing with such ease and aplomb…while shaking those pans around, with humor and affection for us, and I just feel blessed you are there telling me what to do next! We all have failings somewhere, Jamie…but you certainly overcame yours. I couldn’t do math–still can’t! But you’re the cook who inspires the most people, keep that in mind. I love you, Jamie. ❤
As long as he stays far away from Asian food. He’s made enough damage as it is.
Thank you for being vulnerable ❤im sending you a warm hug 🫂
The dyslexia will always be part of who we are and how we experience this world. That dosen’t mean that it’s our dyslexia. The same with any of the other neuro divergences. It’s just a label. It didn’t stop you. It didn’t stop me. I got the label much later in life. Actually AFTER my masters degree in law! Yes, you read that right. Not before. After. And I have written a book on Intellectual Property, that my favorite professor edited and wrote the foreword to. He’s offered to edit the new edition too.
Bless you Jamie. It’s not easy living with Dyslexia, it’s exhausting and anxiety inducing. You need to release all the pain you are still carrying sweetheart, let it all come flooding the fu*k out
Jamie…. I am sending MASSIVE HUGS to you ❤❤❤❤❤
Jamie, thank you for your love and caring you put towards each day and your kindness to all. You’re an amazing chef and I along with many people love you. You’re an inspiration to many.
Love you Jamie, have done for 25 years. Youre proof that a learning issue doesn’t need to be an impediment to success. Xo
I love Jamie. He’s so real. Only love and good things for you, Jamie. Thank you for speaking up for us who have it.
