Everybody enjoys simple standard house cooked barbeque Chicken. It does not get anymore easy, easy or delicious with this All American Backyard Classic. Simply experienced with salt and pepper, indirectly grilled with a percentage of apple wood for additional flavored. Then completed with your preferred bottle of barbeque Sauce. Basic and delicious!
Larry, I love when you say “anyone can do this.” It inspires me to try it. Thanks too for giving the cooking time and the temperature! That makes it foolproof. Great job! — John
This is what we are having for dinner:)
@Bodevi it’s been 7 years lol
@Clint Yeetswood 😅😂😂
Hi Linda, do you have any left that I could have? 😂
Let me have this for dinner Linda.
Can I get a piece?
Apple wood really enhances chicken. Great color and juiciness. Glad you made extra, ’cause I’m on my way! Moonshine will just have to miss out. Hehehee
Ok
That’s nice t-roy
Thanks, Wolfe! . . I usually learn something new when I watch your channel . . . I cook my chicken pretty the same way, but I also add a little paprika to the salt & pepper. I guess I was using too much BBQ sauce compared to you, and I was cooking too directly, though. So next time I’ll do it like you show us here.
But I’m confused again: why did you put the meat on B4 it was fully up to room temp?
I have been following your advice about doing that with beef and pork 🙂
Jersey Joe
Wow, Larry! I used your ideas about more “indirect” cooking for BBQ chicken this weekend. I used Kingsford charcoal, and placed the thighs and legs off to the side. Of course, it took a lot longer to cook, but there was NO burning (which I thought was “normal” *lol*) My GF and I thought it was the best chicken we EVER had!
SO: indirect works very well! (Isn’t it funny how a slight adjustment in your cooking STYLE makes such a BIG difference in TASTE?)
I have learned a lot from you! 🙂
I wanted to grab one of those right off my screen and eat it. Looks so delicious! Will try it out this month!
Let me know how you like it! Thank you for watching.
Larry
The Weeknd lmaoe the hell?
Just wonderful, I have been researching “the barbecue grill” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about – Ariafan Barbecue Babassu – (search on google ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my mate got cool success with it.
Love this recipe I love how it’s simple enough for me to do for my husband and kids before they get home love how you explained this so well. Thank you
Thank you Crissy! Hope you and your family enjoy!

Many thanks, been searching for “bbq for dummies book” for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of – Ariafan Barbecue Babassu – (just google it ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my m8 got great results with it.
@aswini byna hi
This guy knows what he’s doing. I use the same process (keeping them together at first). Most newbies tend to cook them too fast and too hot which just doesn’t get them tender. Nice work.
While I would never cook from frozen, good job with this. Due to bad planning and stubbornness, I did 24 in two batches, also on a Jumbo Joe a few weeks go exact same setup except a Craycort cast iron grate. The first dozen had a rest in a covered casserole dish in an oven still warm from a pie. Both batches served at the same time and while the second batch was awesome right off the grill, the first batch wa s even awesomer after its rest. Since we often do these, I will now always rest these a while before serving. Yum!!
This looks so delicious 😋🤤
I followed this simple video and it turned out to be the best bbq legs Ive ever eaten! Thank you
I tried it last year , only I used season All instead of pepper. We just LOVE this recipe 👍🏼
Simple and delicious 😋 that’s what I like. I like the apple wood touch 👌 I’m gonna have to try that soon
Great recipe. Looks delicious…. you’ve made me hungry watching this! 😋😍
Great video, didn’t know how I was gonna get this dish done for the fam, awesome instruction! Thanks!
I love how you’re “real” and don’t do all the fancy stuff with ingredients no one has ever heard of . I like these real and simple every joe can make type of videos.
But where’s the pizzazz? Where’s that nice specialness?
