Pepper Mutton | काली मिर्च मटन कैसे बनाते हैं | Spicy Mutton Curry | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Curry is a popular dish in India and other South Asian nations. It is a spicy and tasty meal made with mutton, a variety of spices and black pepper. The dish usually starts by browning onions, ginger and garlic, then adding the mutton, and finally adding a blend of spices such as cumin, coriander, turmeric and black pepper. The meal is prepared till the mutton is tender, and is often served with rice, naan or roti.


Active ingredients

750 gams mutton, cut into 2 inch pieces on bone
10-15 black peppercorns
1 1/2 tsps crushed black peppercorns
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 1/2 tbsps ginger-garlic paste
3-4 green chillies
4 tablespoons oil
1 1/2 tsps cumin seeds
3 tsps chopped ginger
1 1/2 tbsps sliced garlic
3 medium onions, sliced
1 1/2 cups fresh tomato puree
1 1/2 tsps red chilli powder
1 3/4 tsps coriander powder
1 1/4 tsps cumin powder
2 tsps meat masala
3/4 cup fried onions
3 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves + to spray
Paranthas for serving


1. Heat a pressure cooker. Include mutton, salt, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, green chillies, black peppercorns, 1 1/2 tbsps oil and blend well.
2. Add 2 cups water and blend well. Cover with the lid and cook till the pressure is released 4-5 times.
3. Open the cooker once the pressure settles totally.
4. Heat remaining oil in a nonstick kadai. Include cumin seeds and when they start to alter the colour, include ginger, garlic and sauté for a minute.
5. Include onions and sauté till golden brown.
6. Include tomato puree, salt and mix well. Cover and cook till fat separates.
7. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, meat masala, crushed black peppercorns and mix well.
8. Add 1 1/2 cups water and mix well. Cover and prepare for 4-5 minutes on medium heat. Add fried onions and mix.
9. Include cooked mutton, coriander leaves and mix well.
10. Transfer into a serving bowl. Sprinkle coriander leaves and serve hot with paranthas.
