GAVAR STIR FRY

Active ingredients

250 grams cluster beans (gavar), stringed and ends trimmed
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons oil
5-6 garlic cloves, sliced
3-4 spring onion bulbs, sliced
Squashed black peppercorns to taste
1/2 tsp light soy sauce
1/2 tsp vinegar
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
1/2 tsp red chilli flakes + to spray
Toasted white sesame seeds to sprinkle

Technique

1. Heat adequate water in a deep non-stick pan. Add salt and cluster beans and blanch for 4-5 minutes.
2. Drain pipes and transfer in cooled water.
3. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Include garlic and sauté till light brown.
4. Include spring onion bulbs and sauté for a minute.
5. Include blanched beans, salt and crushed black peppercorns and mix well.
6. Add light soy sauce, vinegar, toasted sesame oil and red chilli flakes and mix well.
7. Transfer in a serving bowl, sprinkle red chilli flakes and toasted sesame seeds and serve.

  1. Sir won’t it be hard to eat. Cluster beans take time to get cooked. Will still try.

  2. Is it necessary to put garlic and onion in every preparation? Cluster beans taste good and have a delicate flavour as they are without the garlic and onion.
