A quick treat fix for any hour! A crispy, golden goodness, formed like a medu vada made with bread and easily readily available active ingredients.

BREAD VADA

Active ingredients

8-10 white bread slices
5-6 curry leaves
1-2 green chillies, carefully sliced
1 inch ginger, carefully sliced
2 tbsps roasted and crushed peanuts
1 medium onion, carefully sliced
Salt to taste
1/2 cup yogurt
2 tablespoons rice flour
A pinch baking soda
Oil for deep-frying and greasing

Approach

1. Trim off bread slices and cut into small pieces and transfer in a bowl.
2. Slice curry leaves into the bowl. Add green chillies, ginger, peanuts, onion and salt and mix.
3. Include yogurt and mix. Add rice flour and mix. Include baking soda and blend well.
4. Heat adequate oil in a kadai.
5. Grease your palms with some oil, divide the mixture into equal portions, shape them into balls, gently flatten and make a hole in the center. These are bread vadas.
6. Deep-fry the bread vadas in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain pipes on absorbent paper.
7. Serve hot with green chutney or yogurt.
