Apple Pie Cookies | ॲपल पाय कूकीज | Cookies at Home | How to make Apple Pie | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A beautiful sweet and tart apple pie served in little parts as cookies.

Ingredients

2 medium green apples
Dough
2 cups fine-tuned flour (maida) + for dusting
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
A pinch of salt
1/4 cup castor sugar
3/4 cup cold butter cubes
1/4 cup cold water
Packing
2 tbsps butter
1 lemon
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
A pinch of nutmeg powder
Milk for brushing

Approach

1. Take refined flour in a bowl. Add cinnamon powder, salt, castor sugar and whisk well.
2. Include butter and mix well with fingertips till the mix looks like breadcrumbs.
3. Include cold water and mix till all the active ingredients come together. Cool for 1 hour.
4. Peel green apples, core and approximately chop them.
5. For packing, heat butter in a nonstick pan. Add apples, zest 1 lemon straight in the pan. Include brown sugar and mix well. Add cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder and cook on medium heat for 6-8 minutes or till the apples are pulpy and the mix is thick.
6. Transfer in a bowl and permit to cool.
7. Pre-heat the oven at 180ºC.
8. Dust some refined flour on the worktop and present the dough into a medium thick disk. Dust some more refined flour on the upper surface also.
9. Cut roundels with a cookie cutter and cut thin strips from the staying sheet.
10. Transfer the cut roundels on a baking tray lined with a butter paper.
11. Place a part of the apple mix in the centre, use milk on edges and cover with the cut strips Apply milk once again and cut out the additional portion.
12. Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes.
13. Permit to cool and serve.
