If u make a hole at the bottom when u wash them, they get cleaned faster, the water has more movement (circulates better) apposed to letting it spill over where only the top layers are being washed away a lil at a time

Purging is a myth. Just run clean water through them, whilst stirring for like 30 mins at an angle so water runs off with gunk
@greg flue salt kills the crawdad as they are fresh water animals. You throw away the dead ones as they taste bad. Basically by “purging” your just throwing away your money.

You not supposed to do it like that. You can wash them until the water is clear. No need for salt. Purging is not real. There are plenty videos you can watch that show you how to clean them properly no need for the salt. These mfs doing it wrong

I miss having crawfish. Homemade crawfish especially, my grandfather used to make it but he passed away back in 2017. I miss that so much. Along with this restaurant called BoBo’s seafood 🥲 they closed down too. Along with celebrating Mardi Gras party at my grandmas and grandpa’s. Nostalgia hits hard rn 😮💨

I love what you’re doing especially being from and still in Louisiana myself. Not a lot of people know it but purging with salt is a myth tho believe it or not. It does nothing. You don’t have to use any salt at all. You did it right tho just minus the salt.
It adds flavor tho maybe
It removes bitterness
Salt is cruel
Let excretes any salt it doesn’t need and it’s a vital nutrient. Plus da flavor
